Tau ga' kalian, apa rahasia para pemain basket profesional kalo pas shooting? Apa ya yang ngebuat mereka jago banget kalo nge-shot? Terutama pemain NBA. Turun lagi pemain IBL di Indonesia sendiri. Kok bisa ya? Mungkin pertanyaan-pertanyaan itu sering keluar kalo pas kita nonton para bintang NBA dan IBL berlaga. Pingin tau rahasianya? Aku punya jawabannya.

Oke! Kita sering ga' menyadari. Tiap kali kita nge-shot, sikap badan kita sering kali berada di posisi yang ga' benar. Mungkin tangan kita, mungkin kaki kita, siku atau bahkan mungkin mata kita. Hal itu sering ga' kita sadari. Yang pertama kali kita lakuin untuk meng-improve keahlian kita nge-shot memang adalah Sikap Badan (Stance).

Untuk menilai, bener atau enggaknya, badan kita memposisikan bagian-bagiannya pas mau nge-shot, ingat-ingat selalu dengan apa yang disebut dengan B.E.E.F untuk menciptakan tembakan yang tidak tertandingi oleh siapapun.

APA ITU B.E.E.F
Kalo sehari-hari kita sering denger beef yang artinya itu daging sapi. Kalo di bolabasket beda lagi. B.E.E.F adalah singkatan dari Balance, Eyes, Elbow, dan Follow Through.

BALANCE
Balance atau keseimbangan diciptakan oleh tubuh kita yang bernama kaki (tepatnya telapak kaki dan dengkul), punggung bawah dan berat badan kita sendiri. Lutut kita seharusnya membentuk sudut kurang lebih 90 derajat dengan telapak kaki sedikit jinjit (opiniku sendiri). Jangan lupa dengan punggung yang harus selalu tegak. Keseimbangan yang baik adalah dimana berat badan kita berada di ujung kaki atau bola kaki.

EYES
Kedua mata kita harus selalu mengarah ke ring. Terserah mau liat yang bagian mana. Mau liat ujung ring, pangkal ring, terserah. Tergantung nyamannya kita mau liat yang mana. Yang penting, mata harus selalu fokus ke ring karena target kita adalah ring, jangan yang laen.

ELBOW
Kalau kita menyebut elbow berarti sikut (ya iya laah). Sikut yang baik adalah sikut yang kira-kira membentuk huruf C (bayangin sendiri yah!). Dari bahu hingga ujung jari membentuk huruf C. Sikut ditekuk kira-kira 90 derajat seperti lutut kita.

FOLLOW THROUGH
Ini dia yang penting. Apa pentingnya? Begini, follow through adalah bahasa inggris yang artinya kira-kira gerakan (tangan) yang mengikuti. Aku menyebutnya dengan fals (orang jawa baca: foles). Gerakan yang mengikuti itu meliputi gerakan lengan, sikut dan telapak tangan juga jari-jari. Telapak tangan (jari-jari) untuk memutar bola yang arahnya ke belakang (bisa bayangin ga'?). Sekedar tambahan, guna tangan (terutama sikut) itu untuk mendorong bola ke arah ring. Jadi kalau kalian selama ini menggunakan tangan sebagai tenaga untuk menembak, ganti sekarang juga. Karena tenaga untuk nembak yang sesungguhnya adalah dari tolakan kaki waktu melompat.
